How often should I get my back adjusted?

I am a 34 year old male and I need a back adjustment. How often should I get my back adjusted?

Depends who you ask. I leave it up to my patients when they do not have any pressing issues that require treatment. Why? No one know your body better than you. For routine care, I direct people to pay attention to how they feel in terms of tension, stiffness, discomfort, or pain after an adjustment and use that to guide frequency of adjustments. It will be different for everyone.
I get adjusted every week, at least. I want to have abundant energy, restful sleep, amazing digestion, a strong effective immune system, low stress and mental clarity. Adjustments help to improve brain function which help you to achieve what I listed above. Monthly adjustments at a minimum.
Usually, to correct the spine, it takes 3-4 times a week, based on the severity and improvement, eventually graduate to once a week. I get adjusted 1-2 times a week.
Get care more often at the beginning then taper off until you can spread out the care without discomfort.
There is no absolute answer to this question. Much of it depends on if you have any postural issues or if you have had any back problems in the past. Most patients in my office are seen on a 4 or 6 week maintenance schedule based upon their activity level and also if they are doing exercises each day to counteract the stressors of repetitive or constant postures and work/life conditions. This is normally after a corrective therapeutic plan to address their issues. Hope that helps give you some guidance!
Hi!
The number of adjustments depends on the condition, chronicity of the condition, and the progress. Treatments can range 1-3 times per week to once every 4-6 weeks or longer.

The schedule of treatment depends on your condition. Your Chiropractor should determine how often you get adjusted. The frequency of adjustments are more often in the initial stages of treatment then tapper off.
That's a great question and also a very commonly asked question. The frequency that some one needs to get adjusted can very vastly depending upon their level of physical activity, medical history, and activities of daily living. The best way to determine this frequency is to get a thorough examination and assessment from a good Chiropractor. They will be able to determine your needs and come up with a treatment plan that is best suited to your specific needs.
Some doctors go visit by visit, based on that person. Some follow State imposed rules like under Worker' Comp programs. Some let the patient go PRN as needed.
Greetings,

I'm glad you're thinking about adjustments as a means to help with back pain, but also as preventative care for future bio-mechanical issues. Unfortunately, without a through medical history and examination of your spine, it is impossible to tell you exactly how many adjustments you would need to receive to treat your presenting symptoms or to have administered
as maintenance care. With that being said, scheduling an initial consultation appointment with a chiropractor would provide the information needed to accurately formulate the right treatment plan for you.
I hope this helps point you in the right direction to having your question answered!

The higher your stress levels and the poorer your health, the more often you should go
If you have no acute, chronic, or ongoing issues, I recommend receiving Chiropractic care 3-4 times per year at least.
