Dentist Questions Toothaches

Ibuprofen isn't working for toothache. What else should I do?

I took ibuprofen for a toothache, but it's really not working for me. My dentist appointment is on Friday, which is two days from now. Is there anything I can do ease this pain?

Hi there,

I recommend you call your dentist’s office and go there for an emergency treatment. I’m sure they can fit you in the schedule, rather than taking more medication. I want you to know what your pain is from; treat the cause, and you will feel better.
I hope that helps.
When you are in that much pain there is a good chance that your dentist can see you before your scheduled appointment so you don't have to be in pain for two days. In the meantime, there are stronger pain medications. Also, you could have an infection that is causing the pain. Your dentist may prescribe an antibiotic for you that could help.
