Is hypertension caused by kidney issues?

I am a 59 year old male. I want to know is hypertension caused by kidney issues?

Yes. Acute kidney disease like acute glomerulo nephritis can cause hypertension secondary to salt and water retention. Also, chronic kidney disease can cause or worsen existing blood pressure by same mechanism. Also, renal artery stenosis can sometimes cause hypertension.
