Psychiatrist Questions Ocd

Is it possible for kids to have OCD?

I think my daughter has OCD. She gets very obsessive with her routines and how things appear. Like pencils need to be in a certain way, or if she doesn't do this at a certain time, then everything is wrong about her day. She's only 13 years old though. Is it possible for kids to have OCD?

Yes it is, there is treatment for it, to helps reduce the repetitive thoughts and behaviors. OCD can impact all aspects of her life, so consider getting help.

Please see if you can get referred to a Child Adolescenct psychiatrist from your pediatrician. Hope that helps.
Yes.
Yes, it is possible. Try taking her to a therapist/psychologist and, if needed, a psychiatrist.
Yes, absolutely! You can have a school social worker diagnose her.
Yes. It is possible for children to have OCD even in earlier age. However not all the behaviors that can look like OCD are in fact OCD.
Your daughter needs to be evaluated by psychiatrist or psychologist to see if it is a true OCD or symptom of another problem.
