Is the damage from a heart attack permanent?

I am a 50 year old female. I had a heart attack last month. Is the damage from a heart attack permanent?

That depends on how fast it was dealt with and if the artery was opened promptly or not. Most patients would recover if the artery was opened within few hours from their initial presentation.
You need to contact a cardiologist, there are different kinds of injuries to the heart. Cardiologist evaluation is necessary.
A heart attack maybe from compromised blood flow to a part of the heart (ischemia) - this maybe reversible or irreversible depending on the extent of blockage to blood flow and duration - it is wise to seek medial attention and have a cardiologist determine the difference and extent of injury as reversible blockage can be fixed most of the time and prevent future events.
