“My 8 year old child has a UTI?”
My 8 year old son has a UTI and is in a great deal of pain. What are the best options for treatment?

Boys do not get uti. It is rare and generally have other issues with their urinary system to get uti. He may just have some irritation at tip of penis where urethra opens. Check it and try using some Vaseline to that area to see if it helps. If there is blood in the urine, get him checked.
The first thing is to hydrate the child by giving lots of water, then treat if there is constipation.Tylenol can be given if the pain is severe, but the most important thing is to get a urine test for analysis and urine culture and drug specificity, and, depending on results, treated further with appropriate antibiotic if needed.
He needs antibiotics and evaluation by his pediatrician and very possibly by a urologist to find out why he has a UTI. Boys and girls under the age of 10 don't get UTIs without a reason, and often a serious reason.
If he is on appropriate antibiotics you can use azo OTC for UTI pain increase fluids cranapple or cranberry juice to acidify the urine. He would need a repeat UA after treatment to make sure it clears.
