Vision may be restored after removal of a brain tumor, depending on the amount of damage to the structures to the eye. Your son's Oncologist can go over the scans to tell you more about his prognosis.
Usually the blurry vision and headaches are from increased pressure and this usually improves several days after surgery. I do not know where the tumor is. If it is in the part of the brain the affects the vision removal of the tumor can still damage the area of vision and leave residual vision problems
