Dentist Questions Wisdom Tooth Extraction

Should I get all of my wisdom teeth extracted in one appointment?

My wisdom teeth are coming in and my dentist says that I don't have any room for them in my mouth. So, I'm going to have to get them extracted. I'd really much rather get them all over with and have them extracted in one appointment. Is this possible to do?

Yes, I would recommend having all four taken out at once, especially if you are under conscious sedation.
That is usually the best way to handle it. Your recovery would be not much different with 4 teeth vs just 1 at a time. You should see a board certified oral/maxillofacial surgeon for the best result and treatment.
Consult with an oral surgeon. They can evaluate the situation and make a recommendation. It can be done but I do not see it done often.
Yes... Absolutely ... of people who undergo removal of wisdom teeth. The vast majority do all four at one time.
Yes and recommended most times to take them all out at one time while under IV sedation.
Yes, if your health condition permitted, and financially available, then I recommend that you should have all of out at once, that way you only have to go through the process once.
That is an excellent question, if the teeth are all impacted and have no chance of being functional I would suggest removing all 4 of them. It certainly is recommended to take all of them out at once as this will simplify your recovery; i.e. you only have to do it once, if you are having sedation or general anesthesia you also only want to go through it once. The downside is the recovery time may be a few days longer with all 4 as opposed to only 1 tooth.

Yes, but I don't recommend it.  It is best to get one side done at a time and wait at least 3-4 weeks before doing the other side.
It is possible to do all 4 at one time, but if you do that. I would recommend having an oral surgeon to do them under general anesthesia or deep sedation

Unless there is unusual circumstances then all wisdom teeth are removed the same day.

One surgery time, one anesthesia, and one healing period.

Often all impacted third molars are removed at the same time while having I.V. Anesthesia along with local anesthetic. Most Oral surgeons remove all 4 third molars at the same time if anesthesia is used so you don't have to have multiple surgeries and recover from surgery more that once. Often taking out all 4 third molars under anesthesia, also utilizing I.V. pain medications and steroids, by an Oral Surgeon takes less surgery time and therefore reduces pain and swelling post operatively.
Yes, many people have all 4 wisdom teeth extracted at the same time. Usually, an oral surgeon does it and you have the option of being sedated. I usually recommend all at the same time, all can heal at the same time.
I personally do one tooth in one appointment, but a four tooth extraction is possible to do in one app
This is not only possible, but very common. I always recommend getting them out in one appointment if possible. Why heal 4 separate times if you only need to go through it once?
If your Oral Surgeon is putting you to sleep to remove them, I recommend that you have them removed in one visit. This limits your exposure to the general anaesthesia to one time only. If you are staying awake, you may want to have them removed, one side at a time. This will give you one normal side to chew on while the first side heals.
