Surgeon Questions Bunions

My stitches from the surgery hurt as they heal. Is it normal?

I underwent a surgery on my ankle to remove a bunion. I feel a little pain in that area while it's healing. Is this normal?

Yes, it takes 4-12 weeks to heal completely.
Bunion surgery can be painful and your symptoms are likely pretty common.
It is normal to have vague aches and pains in an incision for up to 2-3 months after surgery. Itching and burning are common; they are a sign of skin nerve regeneration. Stitches in general can also cause discomfort. If the pain is worsening, make sure to talk to your surgeon.
