Anesthesiology Questions Anesthesia

Is it possible to wake up during general anesthesia?

I am having a cosmetic surgery procedure done next week where general anesthesia will be needed. I'm nervous. Is it possible to wake up while I'm under and the plastic surgeon is still in the middle of the procedure?

With modern anesthesia you don't have to worry about waking up during the procedure. This is called anesthesia awareness.
The anesthesiologist will closely monitor you and will keep you deep asleep during the procedure.
You will also be administered medications against nausea and vomiting. So that when you wake up, you are feeling good and not obnoxious.
