What are some things that cause memory loss?

I'm 45, and in the past 20 days, I've been experiencing memory loss on and off. Mainly with short-term memories. What are some things that are causing it?

See a neurologist for this issue. Sometimes you need dedicated neuropsychological testing.
Common causes in relatively young adults can be numerous, including:

-Lack of sleep
-Emotional disturbances/stress
-Minor head trauma or Brain injury
-Hypothyroidism
-Vit. B12 deficiency
-Alcohol
-Drugs

And many more.
The first step is to see a psychologist; they can test your memory and give you more information.
Hydrocephalus. Dementia. Metabolic deficiencies to name a few
