What causes red spots in the eye?

I am a 23 year old girl. I noticed a red spot in my right eye. What could be the cause?

Pingueculum caused by solar exposure.
There are many possible causes, I would recommend an exam from an eye doctor.
Sounds like most probably a broken capillary in the conjunctiva it is called a sub conjunctival hemorrhage. Possible causes are a big cough, a big sneeze, lifting something heavy without exhaling. It is common during childbirth. One other possible causes is a big orgasm, And squeezing hard to have a bowel movement when constipated. It is not something to worry about unless it keeps happening in which case you must see an eye MD.
