Because they are very similar to the symptoms experienced before a woman’s menstrual cycle, these may be ignored at times. Pain is one of the most common Symptoms of a kidney stone in women. It often starts out as a mild to moderate cramping, usually located in a woman’s side or lower back
Most people will have flank pain and blood in the urine. Some will have nausea, vomiting or abdominal pain
Most kidney stones are silent. Kidney stones only cause problems and are symptomatic when someone starts to pass one. This typically reveals flank pain blood in the urine and nausea. Some patients will only have blood in the urine which is not painful and sometimes people have blood in the urine which is microscopic and can’t see it.

Most kidney stones have no symptoms. Those that are symptomatic usually have pain in the flank area as an early sign.
The first sign is usually right or left flank pain. Sometimes there is blood visible in the urine.
