What platelet count is too low for an epidural?

I am a 27 year old female. I want to know what platelet count is too low for an epidural?

Less than 100.000
There is no one correct answer to your question. Some anesthesiologists prefer to have plt counts above 100,000, while other accept lower numbers. Some want to know the trend in platelet count. Any ongoing disease may alter their choice also (i.e., pre-eclampsia, ITP, etc.). Altogether, this is a difficult question that can only be answered with a detailed discussion with your anesthesiologist.
I m not sure if it is studied adequately. Most anesthesiologists think that 100000 is the limit.
