What should I expect before and after coronary angiography?

The procedure is typically done in the hospital Cardiac Catheterization laboratory under xray machine. Typically done with some sedation (medication that would make you relaxed), then the physician will access the heart via the artery in the groin or the artery in your arm. Then, they will inject some contrast to light up the arteries and find any blockages. Procedure typically take about 25-35 minutes if no intervention performed.
