Ronald F. Moser, DDS is a dentist with his own private practice in Bowie, Maryland. Dr. Moser received his undergraduate degree from American University and went on to receive his dental degree from Howard University Dental School. An active member of organized dentistry for more than 23 years, he has served as the legislative chairman for the Maryland State Dental Association since 2001. He has served on the Peer Review Committee, was the president of his component society, as well as a member of the Governor's Commission on HIPAA regulation and privacy issues for the residents of Maryland. Dr. Moser is a member of the honorary societies of the Pierre Fouchard Academy, the American College of Dentists, and the International College of Dentists. He has written numerous articles on legislative affairs in the State of Maryland. In 2010, Dr. Moser received an appointment by Governor O'Malley to the Maryland State Board of Dental Examiners for a four year term. After his four year term, he was re-appointed to the Board of Dental Examiners, and is currently serving as President.

You’re either scrubbing too hard or using a hard or medium toothbrush (should be soft only). If you haven’t had a cleaning in the last few months, you may have tarter (calculous) build up causing irritation. READ MORE

How do you clean under a bridge?
Yes, cleaning under a bridge is critical. If food is allowed to accumulate, it will cause severe gum inflammation as well as decay of the supporting teeth and ultimately the loss of the bridge. This is also necessary for implant supported bridges. There are a variety of products on the market to accomplish this. Floss threaders allow the floss to go under the bridge to remove material and clean the inside surface of the supporting teeth. There is also Superfloss that is floss with stiff ends that allow the strand of floss to be threaded under the bridge. All readily available in grocery stores and pharmacies. READ MORE

Brushing after removes any stain and if you add sugar to your coffee, it will remove that as well. READ MORE
Does drinking with a straw prevent cavities?
No, the liquid will still make contact with saliva and affect the teeth, plus you lose the ability to taste what you're drinking. There is no better way to prevent decay than flossing and brushing twice a day. The modern electric toothbrushes, Oral-B or Sonicare (not a spin brush), are the best use of modern technology.
