I had 2 EEG's done one in Oct 2015 and one on Sept 25, 2015, the 2 EEG's had 2 different findings. I was hoping someone could tell me what this means. I lost my Health Insurance in June 2017. When I had health insurance it was unclear whether I was having absent seizures. I know I was having them. When I would have one I would become a statue and everything would become blurry it would last about 10 seconds. When I had health insurance, my Dr. prescribed Gabapentin 300 mg for me but that was for my RSD but that medicine does work for absent seizures too. I have been going to free clinics for now hoping to find answers. If it is not absent seizures what is it.

When I had health insurance they even did an MRI to make sure it wasn't a brain tumor. The results were no tumor. In 2008, I was diagnosed with RSD they did a bone scan 3- phase ct pelvis with contrast. But I was hit by a car when I was 4 years old and had a fractured skull. I was in the hospital for a week. Maybe I did have absent seizures when I was a kid I just don't remember. Now that I am an adult I notice them more often. I have a copy of my last EEG I was going to try and add it to my article. I have copies of both but they will only let you add 1 photo to your article. The first one I had read differently than the first. The first one reads everything is completely normal.

The Posterior dominant rhythm was a well developed, rhythmic 9 Hz activity that attenuated normally on eye-opening, drowsiness was not seen, sleep was not seen, photic stimulation produced no change, hyperventilation produced no change. The patient's heart rate and rhythm appeared normal throughout the tracing. Impression: this was a normal awake routine EEG.

The second EEG read The posterior dominant rhythm was a well developed, rhythmic 9 Hz activity that attenuated normally on eye-opening drowsiness not seen, sleep not seen, photic stimulation produced a photo driving response. Hyperventilation produced a diffuse rhythmic slowing of the background activity. the patient's heart rate and rhythm appeared normal.

I was wanting to know why the two EEG's have different readings. My Dr. never said anything about the findings to me. I found this site online I was really hoping to find answers. I am a two-finger typist so it takes me a very long time to type anything. Now I am at the point where I am just trying to think of things to type because they want 500 hundred words and I am running out of things to write. I hope everyone is having a nice day. I wish they would let me post my two EEG's side by side, but it just says you can add one photo at a time.
