Constipation Hacks: How to Get Rid of Constipation ASAP

Constipation Hacks: How to Get Rid of Constipation ASAP

Our digestive system is responsible for breaking down the food we eat. This way, the body is able to absorb all nutrients from food, including water. However, not everything is able to be absorbed or broken down by the digestive system. As a result, these leftovers are excreted as solid waste (stool).

When the stools are formed, the muscles in the intestines push them out through the rectum and anus. This is intended to be a natural and easy process. When someone is constipated, however, the muscles either need to push too hard for the stool to be eliminated, or they are not properly functioning. As a result, irregular bowel movements occur and cause the stool to be hard, dry, and difficult to pass.

Curing Constipation Quickly

Almost everyone has experienced constipation at some point in their life. Some cases of constipation can be resolved quickly without any form, of treatment while others require extra help.

Below are some constipation hacks which can help improve constipation quickly:

  • Nutritious Diet

The most important way to get rid of and prevent constipation is to consume sufficient amounts of fiber. Fiber-rich foods such as fruits, vegetables, grains, legumes, seeds, and nuts can help produce soft and more porous stools. In addition, fiber makes the stool heavier, making it easier for intestinal muscles to grip. Fiber-rich foods usually have laxative properties which improve peristalsis and prevent and improve constipation.

  • Water

A tried and tested technique in managing constipation is to drink more water. Having a greater amount of fluids in the body when constipated can help pass stool more easily. Drinking plenty of water ensures proper hydration, and thereby prevents constipation.
