Hi,

I'm not sure because I never heard of this before. Apple cider vinegar is an acidic liquid with low Ph, so I just caution you that it may be more harmful to your tooth due to its erosive nature. I would make an appointment with a dentist asap.

Professional tooth whitening better than OTC whitening strips?

Hi, I would start with OTC white strips first to see if you have any sensitivity. These products like Crest white strips have a very low percentage of hydrogen peroxide or carbamide READ MORE
Hi,

I would start with OTC white strips first to see if you have any sensitivity. These products like Crest white strips have a very low percentage of hydrogen peroxide or carbamide peroxide in them. They do seem to work on the younger generation and are very affordable. Only drawback is they tend to fall off the teeth quickly. In our office, we use Ultradent "Opalescence on the go" product, which we charge $70-$80. These are comfortable trays which come in different concentrations like 10% or even 20% to 35% and are comfortable to wear for 30-60 minutes. We also do in-office whitening as a last resort, but it takes an hour in the dental chair and costs $400-$600. I hope this helps you decide. I would start with the first two suggestions and see how you like the results. ALSO, cut back on things that stain your teeth like coffee, red wine, smoking, tea, etc.

Do cavities spread from tooth to tooth?

Cavities can spread especially if you don't floss in between your teeth and if you eat a lot of sweets and sodas, etc.
Thank you.

Is a teeth cleaning by a dentist necessary?

Yes because after a while the soft plaque can harden and become hard (calculus ) which is tenacious and requires scaling it off with an instrument !

Well, it depends, did they put you on an antibiotic or did you have a dry socket following the wisdom tooth extraction? The dentist typically can pack the extraction site with special dry socket paste that has eugenol in it to alleviate any discomfort. Please continue to do warm salt water rinses also. Try also to not smoke cigarettes or use vape electronic cigarettes for that decreases wound healing. If you are swollen, then I would go back to the dentist and have him reevaluate what's going on, okay?
Thank you. Feel better!

How can gingivitis be treated?

Hi great question! Have you tried flossing daily, and brushing 2-3 x a day and rinsing with Listerine? Sometimes even a home remedy of a mixture of warm salt water, 3% hydrogen peroxide, and a little baking soda may help in addition to good oral hygiene. If you are a female and pregnant, sometimes one can get pregnancy gingivitis and I would recommend doing the same regimen. If no success than I would see a dentist and have a good cleaning/prophylaxis done by a professional dental hygienist or dentist.
