That depends. Do you know that if one obtains a gastric bypass, 75% of the time the diabetes disappears. I have had many examples of patients who enter the hospital and with the controlled diet the diabetes disappears. So if one can follow a very low calorie diet, (only 3% can) the diabetes can disappear. If one is a normal weight, it is rare when the diabetes disappears.
