“Can you see nerve damage in an MRI?”
My doctor suspects nerve damage and suggested to have an MRI scan. Can you see nerve damage in an MRI?

It depends on what nerve up are trying to see. The spinal cord is easily visible and parts of cranial nerves are visible on MR imaging usually. The strength of the magnet also determines what can be seen. A 3 Tesla magnet is better than 1.5T. Smaller nerves are difficult to see.
