I am not able to go into a complete discussion regarding all the various uses of a CT scan verses radiography, but to say that usually X-rays are used to screen for pathology and then if abnormal, are followed by a CT scan. This is to protect against radiation exposure as CT scans have more radiation the CT scans.

Unless you told the technologist that you were allergic to the contrast and she proceeded to give you the contrast despite telling him or her, it is impossible to file and win a lawsuit in those cases or to prove that the symptoms you are having is directly implicated in the allergic reaction.

Could be edema or a pneumonitis or multiple other things. Short answer is it is not specific for on disease process. A lot depends on your doctors physical assessment.
