Neurologist Questions Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder

How do I know if my son has ADHD?

I noticed that my son is very hyperactive, but I think he's too young to be diagnosed with ADHD. He's only 7, so I feel like this hyperactivity has much more to do with his age. How do I know if he has ADHD? What are some of the symptoms, other than hyperactivity?

7 years old is not young any more to be diagnosed with ADHD. We have to observe the child, and you and the teacher have to answer a questionnaire about the symptoms and we score it.
Hope you have an idea of what your next move is.
Most children are diagnosed at age 6 to 7 when they have to sit still in kindergarten or first grade. They may present later if the only have concentration problems. Unable to sit in seat, unable to finish work, easily distracted, fidgety, blurting out answers, will not wait his turn, forgetful, unorganized, usually at home and school. There is a questionnaire for parents and teachers that can rate your child and see if it probable he has ADHD.
