The options to fix inguinal hernias or umbilical hernias is very straight forward. All are done as outpatient surgery and recovery is fast. The operations are done either open (with an incision) or laparoscopically ( 3 small incisions.)
Depends on the type of hernia. It usually can be done through open laparoscopic or robotic.
Hello,

Most hernia repairs are done laparoscopically via the little port site incisions using a camera. Most hernias are incisional abdominal from previous surgical procedures or ventral, again on the abdomen. If this is an inguinal hernia, the repairs are still done laparoscopically. You can watch these videos on YouTube for more insight and clarity.

There are two techniques to repair hernias. These are minimally invasive (laparoscopic or robotic) or open (with a large incision). Depending on where your hernia is, the size, and your surgeon preference and skill will depend on how it is fixed.
