Plastic Surgeon Questions Otoplasty

Is an otoplasty permanent?

I always wanted to change the shape of my ears because they're just really large and stick out of my head. Are the effects of an otoplasty permanent?

Hello, yes otoplasty is permanent. It’s an hour long procedure for each ear. Recovery is one week with a headband. The pain is minimum, consisting of a headache for two days, which is alleviated with pain medication. You may also visit my website at DrRoya.com for further information.
Yes, typically an Otoplasty only has to be performed one time and is permanent and typically very pleasing to patients.
The goal of the surgery is a permanent improvement with an otoplasty.

Yes, otoplasty is permanent, however, the sutures may break if there is trauma and there may be asymmetry. It would be best to consult with a board-certified plastic surgeon.
