You asked, "Will prediabetes go away?"

Yes, but not if you don't do anything about it. It can go away if you can adopt proper lifestyle strategies to improve your health. The biggest factor is diet, when, what, and how you eat. You should explore time-restricted feeding or intermittent fasting. Let Google be your friend (or healer) in this regard.
The term pre-diabetes is based on a hemoglobin A-1 C. Calling yourself prediabetic, you have to be in the level of pre-diabetes, not diabetic, and not normal. Will it go away? No. Can you reverse it with medication diet exercise and good sleep hygiene? Absolutely. Speak to your primary care physician about what you can do to get your BMI, diet, exercise, and hemoglobin A1c down.
Yes, if you change your lifestyle and lose weight, then pre-diabetes goes away and you prevent diabetes.
Yes, with diet and weight loss.
The answer to this question is "YES AND NO". Most forms of diabetes or glucose abnormalities have a genetic component. That is we are born with it and we can't change our genetics so the inherited abnormality will not go away. But there is also an environmental component or trigger. For Type 1 diabetes we do not as yet know the trigger or triggers. For Type 2 diabetes & thus most prediabetes, we know that a sedentary life style, overeating, under exercising & the presence of overweight is associated with it. So if fits then, change food intake & type, increase exercise and lose weight and the blood sugar will improve & the day of developing full blown diabetes may be put off or prevented. Remember though that the abnormal gene is still there so if you let down your guard, it will come back.
If you start exercising, cut down on the "white foods"(flour, sugar, potatoess, bread, dairy, and pasta), and MAINLY LOSE WEIGHT(10 or more lbs)---you will likely reverse the pre-diabetic condition. It is sure worth a try!
Prediabetes is an easily manageable condition provided you are ready to make some changes. With regular exercise, a healthy low carbohydrate diet and weight loss (if needed with target BMI <25 ideally) you can make significant improvements in your fasting blood sugars and ultimately get normal numbers. You can request an appointment with a dietician to help you plan your meals and improve your health.
