Dr. Tareen, a board-certified internist and a licensed acupuncturist, is the owner and operator of Advanced Physician Acupuncture in Wynnewood, Pennsylvania. He brings more than 25 years experience in Western medicine together with Eastern treatment procedures to help patients with chronically painful conditions and chronic refractory ailments — those who resist standard treatment.
Providing holistic care to his patients, the doctor customizes each treatment by combining modern Japanese acupuncture techniques, French auricular acupuncture, and German micro-acupuncture approaches, as well as laser and electro-acupuncture. He does so for the following conditions: tinnitus, fibromyalgia, migraines, neuropathic pain, lymphedema, structural and orthopedic problems, osteoarthritis, autoimmune and autonomic disorders, mood disorders, scar treatments, OB-GYN problems including infertility, chronic musculoskeletal and myofascial conditions, chronic pain and fatigue, reflex sympathetic dystrophy, smoking cessation, and weight loss.
Back in 1983, Dr. Tareen earned his medical degree from DOW University of Health Sciences in Karachi, Pakistan. Upon relocating to the United States, he trained at the Harvard Medical School’s Structural Acupuncture Course specifically designed for physicians. He also studied French auricular acupuncture with Dr. Rafael Nogier, and German micro-acupuncture at the Ludwig-Maximilians University in Munich. Finally, he finished his training with a residency in internal medicine at the University of California, Irvine Medical Center in 1993.
With nearly four decades of experience in his field, Dr. Tareen is board-certified in internal medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM). Acupuncturists treat a variety of physical and psychological issues, such as anxiety, depression, insomnia, pain, digestive disorders and infertility.
