Ingrown Hair

1 What is Ingrown Hair?

Also known as razor bumps or pseudofolliculitis barbae, this condition appears as small, pinkish bumps under the skin when the strands of hair curls back and grows under the skin.

These small irritating bumps may cause pimples and scarring on the skin.

This often starts after puberty and is more common in areas with coarse hairs like the bikini area in women, and beard and neck in men.
