Belly button discharge following appendix surgery?

I had appendix surgery 3 years ago and the Dr who did it opened me up from my belly button down to the top of my woo hoo. Two and a half years ago my belly button started oozing puss and hasn't stopped it smells like death all the time like rotten meat. This is the first time my husband has been able to see all of it and it's very sensitive to barely touch with a q tip. I don't if I have my appendix or not but do know they took over a foot of the intestine when they did the surgery.

This may be a fistula.
This could be a chronic infection or a fistula. Seek surgical consultation.
You should return to see your surgeon or get a new one. It sounds like a chronic infection.
Infection present. The smell indicates anaerobes and abscess location. Urgent evaluation is essential with culture and antibiotic and analysis of depth.

Hello, this is one of 2 things I think. You are probably "spiting" a stitch or you have a foreign body reaction to something in the wound at your belly button. I would go back to the surgeon and have them take a look at this or if they cannot help you go to a wound clinic for this. When you talk to the surgeon make sure to ask if the appendix was taken.
