Do you need liposuction with a breast reduction?

I am a 39 year old female. I want to know if you need liposuction with a breast reduction?

In my personal opinion, the use of liposuction for the breast fold or bra line fat is the ultimate adjunct to breast reduction surgery. Not only does this result in improved contour around the bra strap area, but it helps the surgeon shorten the scar beneath the breast fold.
Only if the outer part of the breasts are full and extending to the sides..
PE and shape of breasts. Sometimes it is indicated.
The answer is sometimes. If you have "side breast" under your arms or armpit (axillary breast tissue), it is often addressed with lipo.
Not necessarily. However, if you have a lot of fat along with the size of the breasts, the liposuction may be indicated. Make sure you are with a surgeon that has a lot of experience with this.
Liposuction of fat within the breast is a common addition to breast reduction surgery. It is useful for improving the shape of a breast toward the end of the operation and for fine tuning the final size and match.

Thank you for the question. The need for liposuction during/after breast reduction depends on your fatty deposits on your chest wall, arms, and thighs. There is no clear answers to this. I would recommend you ask the same question from the plastic surgeon performing the breast reduction. Good luck to you!
I offer liposuction with a breast reduction only if there is substantial enough fat excess (lipodystrophy) in the axillary (armpit) area that you would not achieve a desirable lateral contour to your reduced breasts. Generally, the addition of liposuction is considered cosmetic, so if it is added to say, an insurance-based breast reduction, the surgeon is either offering this as a complimentary service, or else he or she obtained prior authorization from the insurer to add liposuction to the surgery, if the axillary lipodystrophy is substantial enough to contribute to the weight causing functional issues or musculoskeletal pain along the back, neck, or shoulders. Documentation has to be well done, with supportive clinical photographs, in order for a breast reduction (with or without liposuction) to be covered by insurance.

Liposuction is an additional procedure that is often combined with breast reduction, especially to address a side roll (bra roll). Speak to your surgeon and see if that is something that makes sense for you.
