Make an appointment with your dentist to have the tooth diagnosed. Tooth pain can be caused by a variety of different things. Your dentist will diagnose appropriate treatment based on the cause of the pain. The most common cause for tooth pain is a cavity.
Nerve pain is typically a sign that bacteria from a cavity has reached the middle of the tooth. Root canal or extraction is the most effective way to alleviate this pain.
The quickest way to eliminate tooth pain is to extract the tooth; although, extraction is not always the best solution in the long term. Replacing lost teeth is very expensive and is not typically quickly done.
The fix you are seeking would require a dental exam and an X-ray of the tooth to be done in a dental office. There are many possible causes. Is this from decay or the result of dental work? If you do not have a regular dentist, it might be the time to get one!

The only way to get rid of nerve pain is getting a root canal. Some dentists do their own root canals, but your dentist would need to see examine the tooth and get an x-ray to see if the tooth is restorable. If the tooth is not restorable you will need an extraction. Hope you can find the help you need soon! Happy holidays
The correct answer is: see your Dentist and determine the cause then solve the issue- the routine ‘cocktail conversation’ response is Ibuprophen and (or) vodka tonic…(just kidding)
No easy solution here.......either have the tooth treated with root canal therapy, which would remove the offending nerve, but allow you to keep the tooth, or have the offending tooth removed. Sorry, but without doing an exam and running some tests hands-on, this is the best answer I can give at this time.

Extracting the tooth is the fastest way. Getting a root canal could be a possibility.
Orange or Oragel over the counter is a temporary relief. You can find them over the counter at Walgreens/CVS/Walmart. However, it is very important to visit your dentist for a possible permanent solution ASAP.
