Cardiac Electrophysiologist Questions Electrocardiogram (Ecg Or Ekg)

EKG was abnormal. Is this bad?

My EKG came back abnormal, but my doctor said that it could be a variation of my heart's rhythm. Not necessarily a bad thing, but he wants me to do another one to make sure. What else could an abnormal EKG mean though?

An abnormal EKG could be a normal variant, meaning a normal non-pathological finding in the electrical system of your heart. If there is concern that this could be a pathological finding, consultation with a specialist should be recommended. Get Outlook for iOS<https://aka.ms/o0ukef>
Hi, Unfortunately everything is in the details--what exactly is abnormal, by how much, and whether this is changing or a long-time stable result. There will always be some small changes from ECG to ECG--even where the electrodes are placed exactly can affect the appearance of the ECG. Bottom line is you should ask the physician what the meaning for you is of the ECG. Thank you.
