“Is liposuction safe?”
I'm a 34 year old female and I'm considering liposuction for my thighs. Are there any long term risks associated with it?

Liposuction is an extremely effective procedure when performed on properly selected patients and carries a very high satisfaction rate. Long-term risks include contour skin irregularities, which usually occur when performed by doctors were not board-certified plastic surgeons.
Good luck.

Liposuction is very safe if performed by a proper board certified plastic or cosmetic surgeon, in an out-patient surgery center. No long-term effects if done properly.
Done by a board certified plastic surgeon in an accredited facility is safe. Be ware of places and "cosmetic surgeons". There is nothing as such!
Liposuction, if done correctly, is very safe, with the greatest risk being an irregularity in the surface.
There are risks involved in all surgery, but when you go to a qualified board certified plastic surgeon who has done hundreds if not thousands of liposuction cases, the risks are very low.

Liposuction is an elective cosmetic procedure that has major *risks.* It's not a substitute for weight loss, and not everyone is a good candidate for it. Make sure you meet with a board-certified plastic surgeon and discuss the potential complications and *risks* before the surgery.
Thank you for your question.
Liposuction is a safe procedure as long as it is performed by a board certified plastic surgeon.
Long term risks associated with liposuction are only results of poor technique and such include depressions in areas suctioned and bumpy or wavy skin. Also bear in mind that liposuction is not a weight loss procedure. It basically makes your body more anatomically harmonious. Therefore you should try not to gain weight after liposuction since that could ruin your overall appearance.

Liposuction actually has been around since abt 1975 . It is one of the most commonly done plastic surgery procedures practiced globally. For years it’s been in constant developmental stages at first adding the tumescent technique than power assisted liposuction, ultrasound technology and now combination of tumescent liposuction and radio frequency (Inmode Bodytite) that safely removes fat while promoting skin tightening. So the answer to your question liposuction done by a board certified experienced plastic surgeon should be considered a relatively safe and predictable procedure for the right patient. Good luck to you
