Head & Neck CTA
CTA should pick up aneurysms. I don't know what you did to your neck; You might have hyperextended or flexed it and caused a disk to bulge irritating a nerve root and thus the pain. Talk to your Neurologist about what you did to your neck and discuss getting an MRI of your Cervical spine. Good luck. READ MORE
Headaches for 2 days
Those type of headaches are common and are part of the migraine syndromes. It is highly unlikely that these are associated to a brain tumor. With such the headache once manifest is unlikely to wax and wane ( better, gone, back again ). There will also be other findings such as blurred vision, weakness numbness and or loss of Neurological function. I feel if your primary will be back in a week or two and you're still experiencing such then you can see him / her and look at further testing. If your headache gets intense and doesn't respond to the analgesic medications then go to the emergency department. Best of luck. Dr. F. Sent from the all new AOL app for Android READ MORE

Pins and needles
Hard to pinpoint more precisely without more specifics. I would look into possibly your anxiety as the culprit. If its primaryly on your left side then you need to see a doctor urgently. If it shifts from one side to the other and different extremities then not as much an emergency as if it is always on the same side.Good luck and happy holidays. READ MORE
when should i call an ambulance for a migraine
It sounds that you have a Complex Neuropsychiatric Syndrome which migraines can be a part of. Talk to your Neurologist or Psychiatrist about reassessing your medications and changing things around a bit to see if you respond better and achieve better control of your migraines. I would particularly discuss with your doctor the new class of migraine medications called CGRP's ( Calcitonin Gene Related Peptides). Many patients find significant relief with little to no side effects for both symptomatic and prophylactic treatment. READ MORE
Dementia
Unspecified means non-categorized into: Alzheimers , Frontotemporal, Parkinsons, Huntingtons, Multiinfarct, Viral or Prion disease. Without behavioral disturbance means without behavioral problems ( aggression, depression, sleep wake cycle disturbances, etc ) and only memory problems.Dementia only oriented to self at baseline. Means they only recognize themselves and not where they are, what time it is or recognize people that they are familiar with. I hope that answers your questions. READ MORE
Sharp pain in back of my head
It's hard to determine any specific cause with such limited information or details. While minor issues are quite likely and unlikely to require major intervention; Other less likely but much more complex requiring serious and extensive intervention are a possibility. I would suggest seeing your primary doctor or a Neurologist to try to obtain a substantial amount of details and formulate a diagnostic / therapeutic plan in motion. If this persists for more than a week or intensifies go see a physician. READ MORE
Back problems
You should see a Neurologist that would further evaluate to what extent are the spinal hemangiomas affecting your symptoms. Then likely a Neurosurgeon consultation to discuss treatment options. READ MORE
Migraines
You have what is known as a complicated migraine which can often cause weakness or numbness and sometimes micro I farcts ( strokes). These are best seen on MRI scans and CT scans do not normally pick them up. Another possibility is the preventive treatment with Topamax can also cause numbness or tingling ( a combination of both is also a possibility). The concerning issues are if you have such ( complicated migraines, triptans = sumatriptan are relatively contraindicated ) while the CGRP's are a new class of both symptomatic treatment ( Emgality ) also can be used as preventive ( Nurtec ). If the Topamax is the primary culprit of your numbness then changing to a different category ( to be determined by you and your Neurologist should be discussed ). If your blood pressure is on the high side usually blood pressure medication such as Beta blockers ( propranolol) may offer significant benefits. Contact your Neurologist and ask him about getting an MRI scan and sitting down and discussing above issues. READ MORE
