  • How long does a hair transplant operation take?

Hello, It completely depends on how many grafts we are doing during the session. Typical cases last for several hours, but full scalp cases can go into the afternoon. Best, Dr. C READ MORE

  • How do you get rid of a double chin without surgery?

Sometimes Kybella is an option (injectable treatment to dissolve fat), but oftentimes simple micro-liposuction is the best way. Occasionally, a small chin implant is helpful. Ultimately, it depends on what is felt during the physical exam to best advise you. Best of luck! READ MORE

  • What is the best surgery for under eye bags?

This is incredibly dependent on several factors. However, generally speaking, the bags are caused from excess eye fat that pooches forward over time. This fat is either conservatively removed or transferred to a new position to create a smooth under eye contour. I recommend you see a board-certified facial plastic surgeon to see what would work best for you. Take care, Dr. C READ MORE

  • What is a mini face lift?

Hi, and thanks for your question! Facelifts are indicated for many things, but mostly deal with sagging tissues in the midface, jawline, and neck. The term "mini" usually means a shorter incision which is useful for people without significant stretched skin in the neck. At 45 years old, this may be an option for you. My recommendation would be to find a board-certified facial plastic surgeon that you trust to go over your options in person and develop a customized plan. Best of luck! Dr. C READ MORE

  • How is eyelid surgery done?

Thanks for your question! Eyelid surgery can be done in multiple ways depending on the needs of the patient. Typically, upper lid skin is removed and any excess fat can be addressed. The lower lid is most often addressed with an internal incision to avoid a scar. Excess fat is removed and then the skin can be laser removed to improve its appearance. Hope this helps. Best, Dr. C READ MORE

  • How is a cheek lift done?

Hi, and thanks for your question. This is a complicated question based on many different factors. All things considered, the most effective way to rejuvenate the cheek is via deep plane facelift surgery to restore the natural orientation and volume to the midface. I would recommend an in-person consultation if you're interested in learning more. Best, Dr. C READ MORE

  • Can you have permanent eye color change?

Hi and thanks for your question. While an eye doctor may have more specific recommendations, I am not aware of any safe and reliable way to permanently lighten your eye color. You could consider contacts which would give you the desired effect. Best of luck. Dr. Cohen READ MORE

  • Can a rhinoplasty make nostrils smaller?

Thanks for your question about rhinoplasty! Yes, absolutely, the nostril size can be adjusted as necessary during a nasal surgery. The first place to start would be an in-person consultation to see if you're a candidate. Best of luck, Dr. C READ MORE

  • How long is recovery from a face lift?

Hi and thanks for your question. Recovery from a facelift is highly variable and patient dependent. The initial recovery is generally 7 to 10 days. Most patients are "restaurant ready" by 2 weeks. Hope this helps. Best, Dr. C READ MORE

  • Does a septoplasty change your nose appearance?

Thanks for your question. A septoplasty, by definition, only changes the shape of the wall that divides the two sides of the nose. Sometimes, straightening a septum can straighten the overall shape of the nose if that's what is causing the deviation. Traditionally, a "rhinoplasty" is necessary to reshape the outside of a nose. Hope this helps. Best, Dr. C READ MORE

  • When can I wear makeup after eyelid surgery?

Thanks for your question. I would confirm with your surgeon, but typically, makeup is fine as soon as the sutures are removed. Best, Dr. C READ MORE

  • Is a chin implant painful?

The recovery is different for everyone, but generally these are not painful procedures; mostly "uncomfortable." Best of luck! READ MORE

  • Can a plastic surgeon fix a facial scar?

There are many options to improve the appearance of new or old scars. The first step is always an in-person consultation to see exactly where the scar is located and its particular characteristics. Hope this helps. Best of luck, Dr. C READ MORE

  • What is the best procedure to remove acne scars?

Hi and thanks for your question. Acne scars are notoriously difficult to treat and usually require a combination of treatments that vary between oral and topical medications, microneedling, dermal filler injections, needling with radiofrequency, laser or peel procedures, and/or surgery. The best place to start is an in-person consultation. Best of luck, Dr. C READ MORE

  • Can plastic surgery remove burn scars?

Thanks for your question. There are many ways to improve the appearance of scars on the face, including burn scars. The treatments vary widely, however, based on the location, age, and additional factors about the scars. In-person consultation is required to develop a management plan. Best of luck, Dr. C READ MORE

  • How long after lip fillers can you kiss?

Hi and thanks for your question! There are no specific restrictions against kissing after getting lip fillers. The lips typically swell from the procedure which will make them a bit sore. Once that passes, you're good to go, and kissing is highly encouraged. Best, Dr. C READ MORE

  • How can I make my lips bigger with surgery?

Hi, and thanks for your question! This depends on several different factors that are often based on physical exam. That said, there are surgical options to add volume to the lips, as well as lift without adding volume like an upper lip lift. An in-person consultation is the best way to see what would be right for you. Best of luck. Dr. C READ MORE

  • Can lip fillers be dangerous?

Hi, and thanks for your question! All fillers carry risks and some are more likely than others. Thankfully, when performed correctly by a board-certified physician, these risks are minimized. Lip fillers are frequently done for many patients without incident, but I would encourage you to fully discuss the procedure with your provider before moving forward. Hope this helps! I am delighted with my experience at West End Plastic Surgery in Washington DC for a deep plane face & neck lift performed by Dr. Justin Cohen. From start to finish, Dr Cohen and the WEPS team provided first-rate attention, information, and care. All my questions and concerns were addressed leading up to and following my surgery, which included an easier than expected recovery period. The results? ❤️ I look and feel 20 years younger! Thank you very much, Dr. Cohen and WEPS!

Dr. Cohen is amazing! He checks off all the boxes in what you would want in a doctor. Kind, yet straightforward and a perfectionist with his work. I went in to correct some filler done at another office, and he did a stellar job! I know a lot of people in this industry, and he is hands down the best facial plastic surgeon in Washington DC!

I recently went to Dr. Cohen for rhinoplasty and I can't even begin to explain how amazing my experience was. Dr. Cohen genuinely cares about his patients - I never once felt like I was sitting in a doctors office. He truly got to know me and what changes I wanted to make to my nose, and was able to take my vision, mix it with his expertise and I am OVERJOYED with the results! 1 week after surgery and it already looks amazing. I am 100% confident that I made the right decision with Dr. Cohen. Highly recommend!!

I just moved to DC and of course need to keep up on the Botox. A little self maintenance is good for the soul. After looking through reviews I decided to go with West End and Dr Cohen. I always prefer an MD when dealing with procedures on my face. He was wonderful to listen to what I want and not make me a replica of someone else. I had fillers for the first time and I am so pleased. I was fearful of what could happen due to what happened to friends. They never went to DR Cohen. He’s wonderful and he will be seeing me more over the years.

Are you looking for an expert plastic surgeon in D.C. you can trust? Dr. Cohen should be on the top of your list. In my recent experience as a chin-implant patient of Dr. Cohen I found him to be professional, courteous, responsive, and most importantly: a skilled practitioner who demonstrates passion for his craft. When having an operation on your face you must trust the surgeon performing the work to provide his or her 110% best effort and have your interest at heart. I can attest that Dr. Cohen provided both to me as his patient. For these reasons I recommend Dr. Cohen without reservation. He is a credit to the industry.

After working hard for two years to get a promotion, I decided to treat myself to some neglected physical rejuvenation in connection with a diet and exercise program. I shopped around at 5 options in the DMV area before deciding I felt the most comfortable with Dr. Cohen. He was honest, straightforward and the only doctor I met with who did not make me feel like I was on a car lot. I have a pushy personality so if I feel pressured by a doctor, it really goes south fast. I initially went in with the intent of a chin/jaw augmentation due to weight fluctuations, the lack of a genetically gifted chin and the start of the effects of gravity (I’m 38). However, what I really wanted was an exploration of things that based on Justin’s experience would work well for my facial structure. I’m very “go big or go home” so I settled on a real tasting menu of procedures that were to work in concert with each other by taking my fat-ish face and lack of bone structure and giving me more “model-like features” without making me look like a different person or obvious case of surgery. Rather than just a chin implant, we combined it with a host of things that achieved the look of superior bone structure and angles: neck lipo & lift; chin implant; buccal fat pad removal; cheek implants and finally a fat transfer at the mandible to square off my jaw as well as to fill in my tear troughs (under eye loss of collagen). The results are amazing and I’m only about 5 weeks out. The buccal fat removal working with the mandible fat transfer and chin implant give me an enviably squared off jaw...it’s perfect. Most of all - I’ve gotten a ton of compliments from randoms on my cheek bones - without Justin’s insight, I would have never realized the impact that could provide...it just wasn’t on my radar. Deb, the counselor and coordinator, is amazing at her job and makes everything so easy. Finally, the office is beautiful, which matters to some (for cosmetic procedures you want to feel like you are in a luxurious place). My opinion is mainly driven by results - I’m fairly no frills if the result is awesome, but I’ll say the fact that they operate in their own office rather than one of those gross surgery centers is huge and the consistent zero wait time for my follow-ups is a huge plus for me running over during the work day. Many, many thanks! I’ll be ringing in the New Year flawless!

Amazing experience! I came to Dr. Justin Cohen to get his opinion on my nose. I wanted my nose to be a little bit straighter since I have a moderate nasal hump. After a thorough consultation, we decided on a non-surgical approach. Dr. Cohen used a filler (I believe it was Restylane) and in 10 quick minutes, I had the straightest nose ever! What I really liked about Dr. Cohen and his craft is that he didn't necessarily change the overall shape of my nose. I still have the same shape and my nose is still masculine looking. I didn't feel a thing during the procedure itself. Quick, painless and with outstanding results! Couldn't recommend Dr. Cohen enough! Thank you!

I had a previously botched experience with Botox (at another location). I was fearful of doing it again, but Dr. Cohen made me feel very comfortable. He did an OUTSTANDING job and is professional as he is kind. I look forward to going back again!

Absolutely the best Doctor I have seen in Facial Injectables/Aesthetics! I have seen a handful of Doctors over the last 8 years and Dr. Cohen was simply the best I have ever experienced, he is wonderful. He was incredibly easy to talk to, provided excellent guidance and advice, was extremely knowledgeable and has a kind and compassionate bedside manner. Above all, I simply love my results! I traveled from Boston to DC for this consultation/treatment due to a recommendation from a trusted advisor and was so glad I did so, I will absolutely be back!

Can not speak more highly enough of Dr. Cohen. What a great addition to the DC PS community and West End Plastic Surgery. Amazing knowledge and bedside manner. He is the definition of what good looks like in the medical community!

Thrilled. Had eyelid surgery performed for under eye bags; relatively young, but eye bags were a gift passed on to me through genetics. Dr. Cohen helped me plan what would look most natural, his team armed me with tons of pre- and post-care info and resources, and the actual procedure turned out wonderfully. Recovery was less painful than I anticipated, and he checked in with me often. I highly recommend.
